The development of triathlon

Today the regular meeting of the Executive Board of the Central Asian Triathlon Association (CATA) was held online.

The participants of the event were representatives of Federations of Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan. During the meeting they approved the program of triathlon development in the Central Asian region, furthermore preparation for such major sports events as: Asian Paratriathlon Championship and Asian Professional Athletic Championship.  Moreover on the agenda was the issue of personnel changes in CATA.

Remind that earlier Galimzhan Yesenov, President of the Association, had tendered his resignation. In his speech at the meeting, Mr. Yesenov explained the reasons for his resignation as president of the Association:

«Dear colleagues, due to my busyness, I am forced to resign as the head of the Association. I would like to sincerely thank everyone for their working together and fruitful collaboration. The Central Asian Association was established at the initiative of the Kazakhstan Triathlon Federation and the support of our colleagues, and literally in a short period of time the Association became recognizable not only in our region, but throughout the Asian continent as a whole. This is undoubtedly due to the coordinated work of the national federations, as well as the high level of professional training of our athletes. I am sure that the work will continue and all the efforts of our national federations will be aimed at developing the sport».

As a result of the meeting, all the above-mentioned issues were approved by a single quorum of voting, and Chingiz Alkanov, the First Vice President of CATA, was appointed as acting President of CATA, in accordance with the internal regulations of the Association.

The participants of the meeting expressed hope that the next Congress of the Central Asian Triathlon Association (CATA) will be held in Kyrgyzstan, because Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan have already become hosts of this event.
